With the strong projection of social benefit cause, JB Institute of Technology always takes the commendable initiative to be the pioneer for the benefit of society apart from providing quality education. With this view, a one-day free health awareness and medical checkup camp was conducted at JBIT premises on 10th February 2019 in association with Lions’ Club Dehradun. The center was scheduled free for routine checkups, including general and eye specifications. At the outset, the honorable Chairman of the group Mr. L.D. Singhal addressed the event by explaining the importance of proactiveness towards health. He said that a healthy mind resides within a healthy body, so we must take utmost care of our bodies.
The camp included a panel of specialist doctors and qualified medical practitioners. Faculties, students, and residents visited the camp and provided free checkups and consultations from the doctors. The panel included a lobby of experienced doctors – Dr. R.N. Singh, Dr. O.P. Gupta, Dr. J.P. Joshi, Dr. Devashish Chauhan, Dr. Indra Agrawal, Dr. Rohit Agrawal, and Dr. Rajesh Mittal, Dr. Ashish Jain, Dr. Charu Ahuja, Dr. Awdhesh Gupta. There was a huge crowd of people at the campus to get themselves checked. Tests of Blood pressure, Blood Sugar, and ECG, including all general checkups like eye, ear, nose, throat, and dental checkups, were done. The students and the faculties got their thorough eye checkups with modern equipment during the camp.
The representatives examined faculties and students’ eyes and suggested the tips for protecting their eyes to have a good vision. According to them, the eyes are the most valuable organ of humans, and it becomes our moral duty to take care of them properly. They also demonstrated some small and easy exercises for taking the utmost care of our eyes. The camp proved to be highly beneficial for all. Among the present dignitaries was the the Honorable Chairman of the Institute, Mr. L.D. Singhal, Mr. Sandeep Singhal – Vice Chairman, Prof.(Dr.) Parul Goyal – Director, Dr. Vishant Kumar – Registrar. All heads of Departments, Teachers, and students were also present.
