May 5 is most important for all the aspirant students who have prepared all year long to appear in the competitive examination JEE AND NEET which was slated to be held on 5th, 7th to 9th, and 11th April 2020, April and the later on 3rd of May 2020. These national level entrance test is designed to facilitate the student in seeking transparent admissions to various premier higher education institutions located in India.
JEE mains and advanced is a gateway for students to enroll in core engineering courses in BE/BTech, BPlan, and BArch higher courses. On the other hand, NEET entrance provides admission to students in core medicine courses such as MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH. NEET exam is also beneficial for students to make career in Veterinary and other paramedical courses in India.
These courses are run at premier institutes of the country namely the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs), and other institutes which are Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). The sudden postponement of the pre-planned national level entrance examination was the result of the global COVID-19 crisis including India. These competitive examinations were postponed due to the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown strategies followed by different states in Pan India.
The exam is conducted by the examining body NTA and the duration for JEE Main and NEET is 3 hours with some 11,47,125 being supposed to appear for JEE main exam. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ today announced new dates for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and National Eligibility cum Entrance exam (NEET) 2020
Earlier JEE and NEET(UG) May 2020 candidates who were waiting to appear for the examination were uncertain about the most probable date for the examination. The news declaration was being held on social media platforms. In an interaction with the students over social networking site, HRD minster Mr. Pokhriyal informed them about the new dates for the test schedule 2020.
As per this schedule, JEE Main will now take place between July 18 and July 23 and NEET will be held on July 26. As a result of this shift in dates, JEE Advanced will be in the month of August. Due to the irregularities in the midst of the Covid-19 emergency, there was a high loss in the studies of the students, and in order to compensate for the same, it has been decided to reduce the syllabus in the upcoming academic session of 2021. So an announcement was being made by Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia that the exam pattern for JEE and NEET 2021 will be from a reduced syllabus.
Contrary to the next phase of the Nationwide lock down 3.0 in Pan India which is extended up till May 17 the pre-scheduled dates for other competitive entrance test is pushed further. Earlier the application correction dates were from 1-Apr-2020 to 03-May-2020 but now, students can edit their online registration form and make changes to the option of the nearest examination center. This is announced by National Testing Agency after looking into the long-time deep impact of the Covid-19 crisis.
