Every effort of today would be the miracle of tomorrow. JB Institute of Technology, Dehradun, ensures miraculous results from its students by deploying mutual measures with students.
In the same continuation, under the leadership of its HoD- Dr. Sanjeev Gill, the Civil Engineering Department conducted a Survey Camp for students on 13th February 2019 to acquire the practical know-how of fieldwork.
The main objective of the survey camp is to provide knowledge of the practical implementation of different survey works. The object of surveying is the preparation of plans and topographical maps of the area.
Surveying is the first step in the execution of any project. Other objectives can be :
To develop self-confidence so that they can do work independently by solving field problems during survey works. To allow students to improve theoretical and practical knowledge in engineering surveying under actual field conditions.
To produce a high-level technical workforce capable of undertaking works in the surveying field.
To conduct a topographical survey and prepare a topographical map of the area as per the given technical specification.
To familiarize myself with handling different types of survey instruments.
Students looked quite energetic and enthusiastic while doing the survey. Camp Coordinators from the department included Mr. Manish Bhati, Mr. Sumit Bijalwan, Mr. Bhaskar Singhal, Mr. Tushar Verma, and Ms. Poonam Ramola.
